Frequently asked questions
Is SnapConv really free?
Yes. Every tool is free, with no account, subscription, credit, quota, or watermark.
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Files are read and processed in your browser. SnapConv does not operate a conversion server, and there is no upload fallback.
Why is a format or output missing?
Some codecs depend on your browser. When an encoder like AVIF is unavailable, SnapConv says so and keeps the other supported outputs selectable.
Does it work offline?
The core tools load over the network the first time. Offline support is planned as a later release once assets can be cached safely.
Is there a file size limit?
SnapConv warns you before very large batches or huge images are processed, because browser memory is finite. Nothing is measured or reported to SnapConv.
Where can I find a specific conversion?
Use the tools directory to search by format, tool, or operation — for example “heic” or “png to webp”.
